Vaastu Wisdom
Vaastu Wisdom is closely connected with other Occult Sciences.  If there is serious affliction in one’s birth chart, there is some Vaastu Dosh (affliction).  A good Astrologer or occultist must therefore have a thorough study of the native’s birth chart, before suggesting remedies to ward off the ill effects of Vaastu Dosh.  I have observed that buildings constructed according to Vaastu principles have withstood the onslaughs of seismic activity as also other natural disasters.  The principles of Vaastu wisdom have now come to be universally accepted by builders and architects as also by the common man.

The man is influenced not only by his own stars but by other factors too.  While his own efforts account for nearly 70% of his success and achievements, 30% of his luck is determined by karmic influences, viz the good and not so good results due to his past karmas.

In the recent past the ancient Indian Science of Vaastu Shastra has received lot of attention by Astrologers, administrators, town planners and architects.  These days whenever one constructs a factory or a house he invariably likes to consult someone who is an expert in this science.

Some basic principle of Vaastu wisdom are enumerated below:-

•  The building should be built leaving open space on all sides.
•  More open space should be left in north side of the plat and less space in the south.
•  Similarly more open space should be left in the east than west side of the plot.
•  The building height should be more on south and west.
•  The height or level of the building should be less on north & east.
•  On a multistoreyed building, terrace should be left towards north or east and not towards south or west.
•  Belconies should be towards north or east.
•  More window opening should be towards east and north.
•  Less window opening should be towards west & south.
•  Thicker walls should be built on east & north.
•  Doors & openings should be more towards north & east side.
•  Doors should be less in number towards west & south.
•  The compound walls of south and west should be thicker & more in height than those of north & east.
•  Gate should be on the north east direction, depening upon the road whether it is north or east.
•  For south facing house, the gate should be on south or south east & east & not on south west.
•  For west facing house, the gate should be on south east & not on south west.
•  The south west room should be the master bedroom.
•  South east room should be kitchen.
•  North east room should be prayer room.
•  Bathroom normally preferred in east.  Where it is not convenient, south east or North West may be recommended.
•  The number of doors or windows should be even and not odd.
•  Verandahs should be designed in west or south.
•  The level of Verandah roof should less than the normal roof level.
•  No Verandahs should be designed in north east, or east or north.
•  Roof level of the portico should be equal or less than verandah.
•  Staircase should be in south west because of its height & weight.
•  Overhead tank should be either in south or west.  There is a difference of opinion to have it on south west.  More weight of water is acceptable on south west but water in south not advisable.
•  Out houses can be built in south east or north west but they should not touch north & east walls & the height of the room should be less than the main house.
•  Car garages also should be along with out house on the same principle but should be in north east.
•  Septic tank in north west or south east are acceptable.
•  Pooja Ghar also north east that too below the ground level only.  Water tank above the ground level in the north east is not correct.
•  No tree or plant should touch the four walls of the house.
•  The entrance to the house should be well illuminated.
